Secure Containers

Design your Container Strategy, Delivering secure containers across your global infrastructure.

November 1, 2022

Containerisation provides automation and simplification in application and service delivery. Resilience, Platform Consolidation and Simplification of Service Delivery are all key benefits from using Containers in delivery. Docker has become the de-facto containerisation standard, providing a core technology to describe and package applications and services in standard components.

While there is an extensive range of open and freely available container templates, for production and commercial environments, tailoring and integration is often needed to ensure harmony with other key services (like storage, backup, personalisation etc). That's where we can help you.

Kubernetes has become the default enterprise deployment platform for Containers. Originally developed by Google, Kubernetes provides enterprise deployment capabilities for containers, resolving issues like resilience, visibility and cloud/deployment. Building your container architecture, to support local, regional and global service delivery, as well as meeting data compliance and protection is where we are able to help.

Kubernetes can we used with your CD/CI and DevOps Patterns, ie Infrastructure as Code to configure, build and deploy your services, integrated into your Service Desk tooling, Alerting and Monitoring, and Security Operations.

Containers, by their very nature, share system resources, placing multiple applications and workloads onto the same physical (or virtual) hosts. This does increase the risks to any environment, with less ability to mitigate through separation and boundary controls. Fortunately, there are a range of hardening and controls that can be applied to ensure the best position is available and help reduce the vulnerabilities if one service gets compromised.

Our experience in delivering secure CIS compliant hardening platforms for your Kubernetes Clusters can help reduce your risks and help you meet your accreditation needs.
